MG1407 Concho - 2 1/2"

A popular decorative item used extensively by Western Indians. The first ones known to man were made from shells. As time passed these were crafted from various types of metals. These are nickel . They had a soldered loop on the back for attaching to items such as hat bands, leather belts, pouches and leather clothing. The large size could also be used for a round gorget by simply drilling two holes near the top. Put leather thongs through these holes and you have a good reproduction of an 18th and 19th century trade piece. An engraved design would make them even more authentic.
