Frequently Asked Questions

Model 1870/87/15. Caliber is 6.5mm. Tapered round barrel is 33 5/8” long. It is mounted with a stud style front sight and a military style rear sight. The bayonet lug is located on the right side of the barrel just behind the muzzle. The barrel is dark brown in color and smooth. Italian proof marks are stamped on the barrel just ahead of the receiver on the short octagonal cross section. The upper left flat is stamped “TERNI” and the upper right flat is stamped “KY8789.” Receiver has the same brown coloration while the bolt is bright in color. Action works perfectly. Rotating safety is located at the rear of the receiver. The walnut stock extends to within 4” of the muzzle. Stock shows considerable wear with quite a few light to moderate dents and bruises. The serial number of KY8789 is also stamped into the buttstock on the right side just ahead of the steel buttplate. Sling swivels are located on the lower barrel band and on the bottom of the buttstock just ahead of the buttplate. Steel triggerguard with spur is located behind the box magazine which extends below the bottom of the stock. Several military cartouches are stamped in the stock on the left side. Two barrel bands hold the barrel in the stock. A metal cleaning rod is located beneath the stock. Overall condition is good plus.
